Hotel dreaming: my hotel bucket list

As a full-time tourist and lover of all things pretty, I have a bucket list full of places where I would like to sleep someday. From hotels in my hometown (hello Hotel 1898 The Post!) to cabins on the other side of the world. Traveling is out of the question for a while, but fortunately dreaming of faraway destinations is still allowed. So, let’s travel to five places that are at the top of my hotel bucket list.

1 / Ibiza Campo Loft - Ibiza

I only added this finca in the north of Ibiza to my list last week. The loft is housed in a hundred-year-old warehouse and has been turned into a modern paradise by owner and interior architect Jurjen van Hulzen. In the Ibiza Campo Loft old and new, sleek and rustic and dark and light a seem to be in perfect balance and as the loft is located on a mountain, the views are a-ma-zing. Not to mention the rooftop yoga deck and the fact that you can pick your breakfast from the fruit and vegetable garden.

2 / Tulum Treehouse - Mexico

Another paradise on earth is Tulum Treehouse in Tulum, Mexico. The hotel is the result of a collaboration between a diverse group of local artisans, builders, craftspeople and international designers. Despite their different backgrounds, they shared their commitment for using local, organic and sustainable materials whenever possible and the result is a truly unique place to stay. In addition to the guest rooms, Tulum Treehouse also has a studio for artists, a shop and a restaurant.

3 / Fogo Island Inn - Canada

Chances are you‘ve seen Fogo Island Inn on Instagram or in a gorgeous coffee table book. As the name suggests, the hotel is located on Fogo Island, an island in Newfoundland, Canada. The 29 rooms are equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows, which provide breathtaking views onto the wildest and most powerful ocean on the planet. The Fogo Island Inn received several awards for its attention to sustainability and the socio-economic contribution the hotel makes to the local community. It is no coincidence that Fogo Island Inn is on many lists of the most unique accommodations in the world.

4 / Little Beach House Barcelona

Little Beach House is located 32 kilometers from Barcelona, overlooking the bay of the fishing village of Garraf. The hotel of the well-known Soho House Group is housed in the former Hotel Quim, which opened its doors in the 1950s. The retro atmosphere has been preserved thanks to the original restaurant tables and replicas of the original mint green terrazzo floor tiles. Little Beach House has seventeen rooms, some of them with a roof terrace and outdoor pool and the color palette of terracotta, ocher and mint green guarantees instant vacay vibes. The hotel feels like a mix of Spain and California, with a hint of Hawaii. What's not to love?!

5 / Domes Zeen Chania - Crete

For the last hotel on the list we’re traveling to Chania, Crete. It’s no surprise that the name of this hotel sounds unfamiliar, but as soon as I tell you that it used to be called Casa Cook, it will probably ring a bell. With its palm and olive trees and warm wood tones, I fell in love with Domes Zeen in a heartbeat. Add to that the modernist architecture and boho vibes, plus the fact that just about half of my family lived in Crete for years and I've never been there myself and you just know I have to go there soon.
