Label to watch: Desmond & Dempsey

I guess it’s clear that I have a weak spot for hotels, restaurants and shops with a story. But did you know that awesome brands also make my heart beat faster? With every new discovery I do a little happy dance and I’m more than happy to share these discoveries with you. Today I’m introducing you to Desmond & Dempsey, the pajamas of my dreams (and probably yours too).

Molly Dempsey and Joel Desmond grew up on the other side of the world - he in the UK, she in Australia - but bumped into each other in Canada. What followed was a long-distance relationship in which Sundays were holy as that’s when they spoke via Skype. Joel eventually managed to get Molly to the UK, but Sunday remained their favorite day.

Molly invariably spent her London Sundays in Joel's shirts, which resulted in many jam and coffee stains and expensive dry cleaning bills. It was clear that Molly needed her own pajama shirt. And as that’s how every great story starts, the couple decided to design them themselves.

Desmond & Dempsey was born out of Molly and Joel's love for Sundays and their goal was to create pajamas that make doing nothing feel like something. Every item is made from quality cotton and the prints are hand-painted in London and inspired by Desmond & Dempsey's adventures around the world.

Desmond & Dempsey's latest collection was inspired by charming, chaotic and magical India. Gilded palaces, wobbly copper pan towers and a touch of Wes Anderson wherever possible. The prints are an ode to the country and an invitation to loosen up, go with the flow and enjoy. So, I guess you understand why I did a happy dance when I stumbled upon Desmond & Dempsey for the very first time. And why India moved up a few spots on my list of must-visit countries. Now, is it already time to go to bed?
